My name is Lynn and I have type 1 OI as does my younger brother.  I was born in UK and after many weeks of crying and screaming I was finally diagnoses with a broken femur and at age 3 months and finally with OI.  In 1951 my parent’s immigrated to Australia with their 4 children.

Gregory & Dolores Farrell Scholarships for 2017 – Applications Now Open

The Gregory & Dolores Farrell Scholarships for students who use a wheelchair for mobility undertaking tertiary education in NSW will again be administered by the SpineCare Foundation in 2017.

The closing date for applications for 2017 is: Friday 3rd February, 2017.  Students who are completing year 12 at the end of this year will be eligible to apply if they plan on attending university in 2017. Students who are part of the way through a tertiary course are also eligible to apply.

Public Transport

  • Westmead Train Station is 250 metres from the hospital and is approximately an 8 minute walk – take the Darcy Road exit
  • T-Way buses T61-T66 stop outside the hospital on Darcy Road. It is then a short walk to the main entrance of the hospital

Direct taxi telephones are provided at each entrance to the hospital (i.e. emergency, outpatients, main entrance and the dental school).

Car Parking

  • Disability parking is available on site
  • Car parking is available on site for a fee
  • Timed general parking is available on the street
  • Drop off and collection zones are provided at the main entrance, Emergency Department, and University Clinics (Outpatients). Driver must remain with the vehicle
  • Note: There will be changes to Visitor Car Park 3 from 17th June 2016 please check hospital website for more details.
